BMT Day +4 - Luka Doncic

Look at that serious face!

Don’t let the face fool you though! She actually had a really good day.

First, an update on her central line infection.

The lab results showed she had a Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) staph infection.

This bacteria commonly lives on our skin, but since she has no immune system, it can develop into an infection.

Fortunately, again due to Mom’s diligence, it was caught early and the antibiotic did a great job at stopping it from traveling into her blood stream.

The first day they checked, both lumens (central lines) showed positive. The last two results came back negative for both lumens.

Her ANC had been non-existent for days and her WBC is also now completely depleted.

These are two of the numbers we’ll be watching closely as we begin to look for signs of engraftment.

Her platelets were also almost complete bottomed out, so she was given some today.

The most fun thing she got today?

This amazing package of things from Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

Of everything in the bags, the picture of Luka and the coloring book featuring him were her favorites.

Finally, she is now on full TPN (the IV nutrition we mentioned yesterday) so that means…

NO MORE FINGER POKES!

WooHoo! We’re all very excited about this part!

TPN ensures she’s getting all the nutrients she needs, so there’s no need to check for her sugar crashing.

We’re grateful for another good day and praying things continue to go well as we face the days and weeks ahead.

As always, keep lifting her up and THANK YOU for joining us on this journey.
