It’s hard to believe that just last Monday (11/22), she had to be rushed to ICU because she stopped breathing.
Then, after spending 8 days on a ventilator, she comes off and is up dancing within 12 hours.
She danced for over 4 hours last night, woke up at 5am, and was dancing again.
Basically, if she’s not napping, she’s dancing. There’s no real in between right now.
“Proud” hardly explains the way we feel about our sweet Avi.
She has been such a warrior for almost a year now.
She’s continued to show us just how incredibly resilient and determined she is.
Last night she managed to pull out her art-line (line placed in artery in her wrist for monitoring blood pressure).
This morning, we took out her PIV and are just using her Central Line again.
She was able to wear real clothes again!
They’re working on weaning the last sedation med, and we hope to be back in BMT soon!
We’ve had some great ICU nurses, but our BMT Team is “home” (for now) and we’d like to get back there.
Then, it’s going to be all about going HOME “home.”
Thank you all for staying involved, keeping us encouraged, and, especially, for lifting up our sweet girl. It’s been a tough uphill climb, but she did it!
