Chemo sucks no matter how you look at it.
With babies, they have no way of communicating what hurts.
Are they nauseous?
Do they have a headache?
Is it bone or joint pain?
No idea.
So, although Avery has her good moments through the day, when the nausea/pain/whatever starts, it just hits her.
Then we give her meds to try to help ease the side effects.
For most of the day, she seems well. It’s just trying to keep her feeling well the rest of the time.

The entire transplant process can be so hard on their little bodies.
