National Sibling Day

Big Sister’s Day

The last 24 hours have been mostly quiet for Avery, so Mom & Dad were able to focus on Big Sis for National Sibling Day.

I was able to spend the evening at the hospital with Avery, while Mom & Dad swam and played with Big Sis at a nearby hotel.

Fortunately, no one was in the indoor pool, so they were able to play (safe and) alone.

Lots of quality time, but never enough.

As for Avery, she was pretty tired from the procedure yesterday, but is more back to her normal schedule today.

Her oncologist came in today and said her labs and cultures look good. They’ll be doing antibiotics for 7 days instead of 10.

Her BP does seem to be trending up, so they’ll start back one of her meds and then watch and see if she needs the other one as well.

Avery will get her new T-cell line next week and her oncologist is going to do another bone marrow biopsy to see how the chemo dose they gave her (prior to the knowledge of relapse) has worked.

It may help determine the chemo medicine they use during her CAR T therapy.

Finally, they’ll do a blood draw for her bone marrow next week to begin the search for a match.

Remember to join the registry at Be The Match if you would like to be included in the search!

Keep praying for remission. That is, once again, our goal.
