The doctors have told us to expect a quiet weekend, which is good by us.
- WBC: 4.2
- Hgb: 8.7
- Platelets: 165
- ANC: 80
- Blasts: ZERO
First, what we know about the biopsy results.
The on-call oncologist told us this morning that Avery’s numbers haven’t really recovered as much as needed for an accurate result, so we’ll wait to see what this Thursday’s scheduled biopsy shows.
The Doctors seem to agree the rise in blasts we saw on Wednesday were “recovery blasts.” So, that’s better than aggressive cancer cells.
Now the LP.
Again, the on-call oncologist said that typically when they don’t hear back right away, and based on last week’s results, the results are typically negative.
Meaning no cancer cells in the spine.
Again, both are still wins for Avery.
We’re still on schedule based on Avery’s initial therapy calendar. She has done so well we haven’t had to diverge from the original treatment plan.
In addition to Avery, please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. It’s been one month today since we received Avery’s diagnosis and, after this week, it’s beginning to take its toll on our mental health.
Prayer requests:
- REMISSION
- no infections
- continued weight gain
