“Evidence of 100% male (donor) cells”
We’ve been sitting on this news for almost 2 weeks because we felt that getting Avery well was top priority.
But, her initial results are in and she is 100% her donor!!
Because her donor is male, it’s an easy test for the team. They pull 200 cells and see how many have a Y chromosome.
All 200 of Avery’s cells were XY.
We’re incredibly excited that the BMT has been successful thus far. The first 100 days are still crucial, so we’re almost halfway there. Keep goin’, Avi!
