Good news praise small victories

Avery’s nurses called down this morning and made sure they took her early for her LP since she was so hungry.

(We had to stop feeding at 2am for the procedure).

She ended up being first in line! They took her back, started the procedure and we got a text within minutes saying they were done!

It was successful and they even injected some chemo into the spine while they were in there.

The Dr is based at Children’s Plano, who they saw while they were there for diagnosis, and who will be her Head Oncologist going forward.

We were told last night she was the best person for the job and she proved it today!

All of Avery’s future LPs will be scheduled with her.

Avery is now in recovery and should be able to eat soon!

No labs yet, but when I asked about her numbers before the LP, they said platelets were over 100 for surgery… and there were a few blasts today, but nothing significant.

Now we pray the results from the LP are conclusive enough to read… and that there’s no substantial leukemia cells found.
