Officially Moved to Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

Today was a long day for a variety of reasons.

To begin with, we moved rooms again!

Our 4 weeks in this room was almost up, plus they’ve officially moved us over to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

This is in preparation for her CAR-T Therapy. We are still unsure of the transplant at this time.

Unfortunately, we’re also still unsure of her bone marrow biopsy results.

We did receive some preliminary information today, but, as we thought could happen, the sample they were able to get wasn’t conclusive enough.

Therefore, we’ll see what the FISH (Fluorescence in situ hybridization is a test that “maps” the genetic material in a person’s cells) results say on Monday.

Either way, Avery is scheduled for another biopsy on Tuesday to get a more accurate look at her cells (and confirm today’s results).

This means her CAR-T chemo will tentatively start at the end of next week.

It doesn’t necessarily put us a week behind because we were testing a week early, so we’re simply back on our original schedule.

Please continue to pray for good results; specifically either REMISSION or less than 5% of cancer cells.

Otherwise, this cutie is just going to keep on keeping on… and eating up all the good baby food.
